The MacLachlan family is Australia's third-largest landowner and one of its oldest farming dynasties.

The family has announced a historic split of their livestock stations, Jumbuck Pastoral.

The split is part of a long-term succession plan, with brothers Jock and Callum MacLachlan departing the family business.

Jock will take control of two stations, while Callum will manage another two.

The remaining properties will be retained by the family.

The split is the most significant transformation of the MacLachlan farming empire in 135 years.

The MacLachlan family's farming empire spans over 5.2 million hectares, making it one of the largest in Australia.

The MacLachlan family has been involved in the Australian agricultural industry for over 170 years.
